The team is uniquely made up of mental health professionals with specialisms in various fields of physical, emotional and behavioural problems, who have all trained in Equine Assisted Therapy.

Equine Elements

Equine Elements was brought into being by Alice and her herd at the end of 2022, but is a dream that had been around for much longer! They work to bring the power of horses to as many people as possible, as well as educating humans on what a horse truly needs, and how to work in partnership.

Equine Elements’ home is a beautiful seven acre field situated near Slad in the heart of the Cotswolds, with stunning views across the valley to the historic village of Painswick. Their field is meadow grassland that is rich in nature, including varied insect, bird, and plant life, and is bordered by ancient beech woodland. They have a large flat area and mini arena which are perfect for groundwork and building obstacle courses, and the surrounding countryside has some amazing paths to discover, whether that is walking or riding. The site is quiet and secluded, providing a safe, confidential and peaceful space for their sessions.

Heart Shore Horses

Dawn and her family work with people and horses in a variety of ways which can include Equine-Assisted Learning, Horse Riding and Horsemanship for people with autism and for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities and Natural Horsemanship.

In each and every one of these activities first and foremost comes a connection with and deep respect for the horses, who live naturally as a herd on Heartshore land.

Heartshore say that Horse Riding is less about technique, more about relationship and communication; the technique can be learned and practised, but it is the connection here that is most important for our clients and horses.
